For the Buffalo Trace tasting, we will be sampling 4 whiskeys:

1. Sazerac Rye – https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/our-brands/sazerac.html
   • Aged 6 years. Straight Rye – 51% minimum Rye. Corn and Malted Barley are the other grains in the mash bill. Buffalo Trace Distillery makes 4 mash bills. 3 Bourbon and 1 Rye. 90 Proof.
   • The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey dates back to the 1800’s, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.
2. Buffalo Trace Bourbon – https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/our-brands/buffalo-trace.html
   • Aged 8 years. Straight Kentucky Bourbon. 51% minimum Corn. Rye and Malted Barley are the other grains in the mash. Mash Bill #1. Other Bourbons in this mash bill are
     • Eagle Rare, E.H. Taylor Jr, Stagg and Benchmark
   • All our barrels are char #4 55 seconds and every mash bill uses the same yeast to ferment.
   • The biggest differences between out whiskies are their mash bills, their age and their proof.
   • Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led American pioneers and explorers to new frontiers. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where Buffalo Trace Distillery has been making bourbon whiskey the same way for more than 200 years. In tribute to the mighty buffalo and the rugged, independent spirit of the pioneers who followed them, we created our signature Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
3. Weller 12 – https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/our-brands/w-l-weller/w-l-weller-12-year.html
   • Aged 12 Years. Wheated Mash Bill. 51% minimum corn. Wheat and Malted Barley. The absence of Rye and the presence of Wheat provide a softer Bourbon. Very approachable especially in the Special Reserve bottle. This older version of Weller is 90 proof and rich in flavor from it’s extra time in the barrel.
   • Aromas of lanolin, almond, creamed corn and toasty vanilla. The mid-palate flavor is heavily wheated, layered and moderately sweet. Long, oaky, and intensely smooth finish.
4. Stagg (formally Jr.) – https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/our-brands/stagg/stagg-jr.html
   • (Previously Jr.) Batch 18, 131 proof. Mash Bill #1 same as Buffalo Trace. Similar in age slightly younger uncut and unfiltered. This is a full bodied explosion of flavor. Do not be shy about adding water or ice to this Bourbon. It makes a pretty stellar old fashioned too.
   • George T. Stagg built the most dominant American distillery of the 19th century, during a time known as the Gilded Age of Bourbon. Uncut and unfiltered, this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade and boasts the bold character that is reminiscent of the man himself.
